Hi guys.
I just sold my IS.=( It hurts, it honestly does.
Car was rear-ended while I was stopped at a crosswalk. I stopped and the lady behind me did as well, but the F150 behind her didnt.
I loved my car. Since the day they were released, I would draw them on my highschool work. Teachers hated it, I didn’t care. Since day 1 I wanted one. I even have pictures from the OC Autoshow where they had a 2001, nice and shiny. I’m in the driver’s seat, smiling like a moron.
Once I had to sell my beloved Supras, I decided to pull the trigger and go for my dream car. It took me six months to find my bone-stock 2003 original 5-speed with the factory LSD, and “suede” interior.
It was perfect.
I did a few mods of course, to make the car uniquely mine.
What sucks is the day she was hit, she was looking the best she ever had.
Here she is on the tow truck, being taken away by the new owner, who will hopefully fix it. But I understand if he can’t.
I am looking into another type of car, something different, as I’ve pretty much had Toyotas my entire life (dad was a Toyota fanatic). I do miss boost, so my next car will definitely be turbo or supercharged and manual. It also has to have 4 doors.

:( Sorry to hear that.
Since you’re looking for a different car, I suggest a wagon.

Was it totalled? I’m surprised the f150’s insurance just didn’t pay to fix it

That really sucks man, especially since it was a car you had your heart set on for so many years.
Question though: Since the accident wasn't your fault and I imagine the F150 driver's insurance would have had your car's fixes financially taken care of, was the car written off and you just didn't want to hassle with buying it back and not having it be "the same" as it was before?

I love them but they’re auto-only.

They paid my car off, but I opted to keep it so I could get the rare parts I had on it to other IS owners. I took a hit in payment, but I didn’t want them to go to the junkyard. The damages were well over $7k.

Thought about it (first car I considered to be honest), but I’m staying away from complicated cars.

a man after my own heart, exactly how I would have bought mine.

Once they hit $7k in damages, they just stopped and decided to pay me out. I wouldn’t want a rebuilt car anyway.

Have you considered subaru? I had an 2005 forester XT 5 speed that was a blast. an nice Legacy GT wagon 5 speed is a lovely little unicorn, or if you want to go really nutty, get a baja turbo 5 speed.

Considered the Legacy GT, but none for a good price.

I hadn’t seen this until now. Ouch man that sucks really badly. I still have mine but my dad is now driving it and will be passing it on to my sister once she starts driving.

That’s a good bit worse than mine. Glad you’re okay, but man that sucks. It was a beautiful car.
